The intention of this weekend is to get better acquainted with our Lead Pastor candidate, Joe Florestano, before voting on whether to call him to shepherd our church.

Saturday

10:00 AM to 12:00 PM – Coffee and snacks will be available in the Community Room at 4710 Matterhorn Circle. This is opportunity to have a casual chat with Joe and other people from Salem.

5:00 PM – A catered dinner will be available in the Salem gym. RSVP BY OCTOBER 30 using the link below, or contact the Salem office at 218-624-4859 or salem@salemcovenant.org.

6:15 PM – There will be a Q&A session with Joe in the Sanctuary. Start thinking of questions! This event will be livestreamed. Childcare will be provided. (It would be great if some volunteers could stick around to clean up the gym afterward.)

Sunday

10:00 AM – There will only be ONE service this morning. Joe will deliver the message. Coffee and treats will be available afterward.

11:30 AM – A special congregational meeting will be held in the Sanctuary. Church members who are present will be given a paper ballot for the vote on whether to formally call Joe Florestano to the Lead Pastor position. This is an open meeting, so anyone may attend. There is no plan to stream this meeting online.

Steve and Barb Swanson, retired missionaries to Sweden, will be joining us for the morning to share about their ministry. The congregation then has an opportunity to talk more with them over lunch!

Help pack gift boxes for kids all over the world! We packed 213 boxes last year, and we are hoping to break that record this year. Items will be collected by category on the following dates:

• October 19 – Clothing
• October 26 – Toys and “wow” items
• November 2 – Hygiene items
• November 9 – Art and school supplies
• November 16 – Miscellaneous

All items must be new/unopened. Please see the link below for gift suggestions and guidelines.
