Let Us Know You’re Coming

Send your information ahead of time with the form below so we know to expect you! This will allow our ushers to help you and your family more readily when you get here.

Parking

The main parking lot is behind the church building in the alleyway. The parking lot across Green Street is also available for use.

There are seven marked spots in the main parking lot reserved for accessibility. Otherwise, there are no reserved parking spots.

Entrances

There are four numbered entrances around the building. Only entry #1 (the double doors in the alley) is unlocked during business and service hours.

Services

We hold two services on Sunday morning at 9:00 and 10:45. Both services are essentially identical in content, though the earlier service tends to have higher attendance.

A typical Sunday service consists of the following:

  • A quick welcome from a Salem attender

  • A 3- to 4-minute video highlighting recent and upcoming events

  • A few minutes of “Meet and Greet” time, giving everyone a chance to say hello to those around them. Expect to be warmly welcomed!

  • Three worship songs led by our worship band, usually a mix of contemporary songs and traditional hymns. See the main page of the website for our most frequently used songs.

  • A 35-minute sermon from Pastor Steven or a guest speaker

  • One or two closings songs

  • Dismissal

Coffee Time

Coffee and treats are served between services, providing a chance for congregants and visitors to interact and introduce themselves. If you are planning to attend the 10:45 service, we encourage you to show up early (around 10:15) so you don’t miss out on this time!

Communion Sundays

The first Sunday of each month is Communion Sunday. Communion will be available in pre-packaged cups that you can grab on your way into the Sanctuary. The congregation will take Communion together with direction from Pastor Steven sometime during the service. Communion at Salem is open to anyone who acknowledges Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Family Sundays

The last Sunday of each month is Family Sunday. Whereas children age 3 to grade 5 are normally dismissed partway through the service to have their own ministry time, they are expected to stay in the Sanctuary with their families on Family Sundays. The nursery will still be available to children up to age 5 if needed for both services. The service will include worship by the youth band and a special short message for the kids before the main sermon. Activity sheets will also be handed out for kids to fill out and color during the service. These sheets can be shown at the door after the service for a prize!

Children

At Salem, we make a special effort to invest in the lives of the next generation, so children are more than welcome! A nursery is available for children up to age 3 for the duration of the earlier service, and up to age 5 for the second service. On most Sundays, children age 3 to grade 5 will be dismissed just before the sermon to have their own ministry time in Anchored, our Sunday School program.

Safety Measures

We take the safety and security of your children seriously at Salem. All of our teachers and volunteers have been vetted, background-checked, and trained for the roles they serve. More information about our Safe Place Policy can be found on our training page. Additionally, all children participating in nursery or Anchored must be checked in with a printed nametag and security code. Parents/guardians will need this code to pick their children up after the service.

Children in the Sanctuary

If you choose to keep your children with you in the Sanctuary, there are activity bags available in the rear of the Sanctuary if they need something to do. Do not be overly concerned about noises made by your children; it is an expected part of life at Salem, especially on Family Sundays!
